MGNREGA is a central government scheme that is introduced in India for providing work to people living in rural areas. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 (MGNREA) is initially known as National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA). MGNREA is India’s measure of social welfare that is aimed to guarantee the “Right to Work” and creating durable assets (such as canals, roads, wells, and ponds). On 23 August 2005, this act was passed and is implemented in 2006 February. The act was implemented by the UPA government Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The main aim of the act is to provide livelihoods to the rural area people by providing a minimum daily wage for 100 days in a financial year to at least one family member. One-third of the jobs are made available to the women of the family. Within a 5 km radius of the applicant’s house, the work is assigned and the minimum amounts of wages are paid. If in any case, the government is unable to provide work for the applicant, an unemployment allowance is provided to such persons.

The applicant has to select the related “State” from the displayed list of states on the home page.
A new page opens in which the districts of the selected state are displayed on the left side of the page. Choose the “District”.
Then selection of “block” has to be done from the display of options shown on the left side.
The user should choose their resident “Panchayat” village from the list that is shown at the right part of the page.
Make click on the option “Job Card/ Employment Registration” present under the heading “Job Card/ Registration”.
Select the concerned “Job card”.
The “Job card No and Name of the applicant” are shown on the screen.
Choose and click on the user’s job card
The job card details along with the payment status are viewed by the user.
MGNREGA Payment Details:
Go to the official MGNREGA website https://nrega.nic.in.
On the home page select option “Panchayats GP/PS/Zp” from the menu bar.
New pages open and select “Gram Panchayats” and click on it.
The option “Generate Reports” is to be chosen.
The entire Indian states list is shown on the screen and one is to be selected among them.
The concerned state report is displayed with options “Financial Year, District, Block, and Panchayat”.
The district name has to be selected from the list shown by the drop-down box.
“District, Block, and Panchayat” should be clicked.
Finally make click on the option “Proceed”.
A new page is opened with the title “Gram Panchayat Reports”.
Select and open “Job Card/ Employment Register”.
The list of names along with the job cards will be displayed.
Among the multiple job cards, find out the related card with the name.
The user’s job card will get opened with all the details entered for applying.
The applicant-linked bank accounts are shown along with the days of work done in NREGA.
The payment to the users is calculated and deposited into their account based on the number of days the work is done.
